GOV AKEREDOLU COMMISSIONS 5.44KM ARAROMI OBU TOWNSHIP ROAD

•Says His Administration Not Discriminating With Project Distribution

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has said that his administration is not in the least bit discriminatory in the distribution of projects in the state.

Governor Akeredolu made the remark at Araromi-Obu during the commissioning of the 5.44 kilometers of the township road.

The commissioning was part of the activities lined up in commemoration of the Governor’s first 100 days of his second term in office.

The Governor said roads have been commissioned in Akure in the central senatorial district while he will be in Ifon in the Northern Senatorial District to commission another road and also handover the Oba Isreal Adeusi General hospital tomorrow.

Arakunrin Akeredolu said the 5.44km Araromi-Obu township road was constructed to provide connectivity, safety and comfort that would enhance the life expectancy of the people in the community.

“This project consists of 5.4km length of Road of 7.3m width, 600mm x 600mm lined drain on both sides, culverts at appropriate locations and road markings. It is paved with 40mm Asphalt.” The Governor explained.

Governor Akeredolu also noted that the Araromi-Obu road portends several advantages to the people, such as decrease in travel time, increase in the lifespan of vehicles and a corresponding rise in the value of adjoining properties in this neighbourhood.

“To the good people of Ondo State, I appreciate your cooperation and solidarity with our government in the past four years, even in spite of our dwindling resources, and I can assure you that we are irrevocably committed to completing our ongoing projects aimed at improving the living conditions of our people.

“I appeal to all our people to consider the roads as both personal and collective heritage which we have individual duty to protect and preserve. This is because with this mind-set, we will have roads that all of us can be proud of. Our maintenance effort must necessarily be complemented by positive mental attitude of the people.”

“I am very certain that we will not continue to our see roads as refuse dumps, carwash or cow slaughter slabs, otherwise we would remain far from keeping roads in good condition and consequently diminish the investment of our hard-earned tax on road construction and maintenance to a huge waste.” He stressed.

The Commissioner for Land and Infrastructure, Engr. Raimi Aminu, who described the 5.44km as an iconic project, said the government is determined to complete all ongoing road.

The Ajobu of Araromi-Obu kingdom in Odigbo local government, Oba Aderemi Adeola, Otikirimisi I, who spoke through an address read by the Chairman of Araromi-Obu Development Committee, Mr Bisoye Monebi Esq, described Governor Akeredolu as a man who is true to his words and conviction, adding that they are glad that he has fulfilled the promise he made to them during his first-time tenure.
The monarch noted that the commissioning would go down in the history of Araromi-Obu as one of the happiest moments they have ever witnessed in the long history of their existence.

Oba Adeola said, "we are also proud to be identified with your sterling leadership qualities which have been recognised, not only in Ondo State but across the country for your firm position on national issues and most remarkably, your laudable intervention on the high rate of insecurity in our country.”
