The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Odigbo Local Government Area on Thursday, December 18, 2025, formally unveiled the Odigbo Ward structure in a colourful event that also featured an End-of-Year Party and the admission of 105 new members into the party.
Speaking at the gathering, the Ward Chairman, Ogbeni Victor Akinnubi, expressed gratitude to party leaders and faithful members for their cooperation and steadfast commitment throughout the year. He described ADC Odigbo Ward as a “pace setter” whose organisational strength is an example to other wards across the state.
Akinnubi declared that the ward is prepared to play a transformational role in politics, saying “ADC Odigbo Ward is ready to deliver Nigeria, Ondo State, Odigbo Local Government and the Odigbo community from the hands of oppressive leadership.”
Also addressing participants at the event, the ADC Local Government Chairman, Hon. Azeez Fatai, praised members for their loyalty and sacrifice. He encouraged them to intensify efforts ahead of future political contests, noting that unity and consistency remain key to leading the party to the “promised land.”
Likewise, party chieftain Engr. Femi Olafunmiloye applauded the impressive turnout at the unveiling ceremony. He admitted he did not expect the level of mobilisation witnessed and urged members and leaders to continue strengthening the party at the grassroots.
A major highlight of the programme was the official reception of decampees from opposition parties. Comrade Olashile Arowose, a former youth leader in Orita community, led over 70 new members into ADC. He explained that his decision was driven by the positive impact of Engr. Olafunmiloye on his personal development and political direction.
According to him, “Engr. Olafunmiloye is a good leader and ADC is a party for the youth. I left the ruling APC because I believe this is where genuine support and opportunities exist.”
Similarly, Odole Sayo led 35 new entrants from Omifon community, pledging their total loyalty to ADC. Receiving the new members, the Local Government Chairman, Hon. Fatai, commended their courage and assured them that the party remains open to all progressive-minded citizens.
He subsequently handed the new members over to the ward leadership under Engr. Femi Olafunmiloye and Hon. Igbagbo Oyebade for documentation and full integration into party activities.
The event marks another major mobilisation milestone for ADC in Odigbo as the party intensifies grassroots expansion ahead of forthcoming political engagements.
